With the decline of skilled tradespeople in the hospitality industry and witnessing the closure of many great businesses due to the lack of staff, Shane decided cut together a short documentary called "Skills for Trade" to enter in the Australian film Festival flicker fest (which the entry was due in two weeks) using footage taken over 12 years capturing Dean Gibson's work creating amazing Chocolate sculptures as well as representing Australia in international competition as a competitor, coach and team manager. Nievley Shane was hoping for the chance to find an audience to showcase the talent and skills we have in Australia and that we are competitive in the international arena in world competition outside of sport. Also, to highlight the opportunities through collaborative projects like Iron Shark, to help raise the profile of passionate skilled tradespeople passing on skills and knowledge training the next generation and to inspire bakers and pastry chefs that will lead the industry into the future.

Unfortunately, it never found an audience through any Australian film festivals. But to Shane's surprise (as it was his first time to enter his work) it was selected and made finalist for multiple international short film festivals. He still continuing capture the story with the hope to create a series of the incredible work that these amazing trades people do.
